St-Etienne playmaker Pascal Feindouno admits he is seeking a move to United Arab Emirates' club Al-Ain.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder told L'Equipe he has been attracted by the financial package offered by the Middle Eastern side, even if it was not so exciting on a sporting level.
The two clubs are yet to agree terms but if they do, the Guinea international says he would like to move on.
While a deal looks unlikely this summer, the player, who has previously been linked with Liverpool, has not ruled out a possible move during the next transfer window.
He said: "Al-Ain have been following me for several months. But St-Etienne immediately replied I was not for sale.
"That makes me laugh, because when St-Etienne signed me from Bordeaux, I had been 'not for sale' for a while too."
He added St-Etienne did not listen to the Al-Ain propositions, and he did not want to start a battle between the clubs.
"The financial proposition was good. If both sides would have agreed terms, I would have left. Can you imagine - they offered me €3 million a year, which is amazing," he said, adding this had unsettled him for a few days.
"Anyway, I have not left St-Etienne. We will see during the next transfer window."
