Duo fail to keep pressure on Lyon
Marseille and Bordeaux failed to close the gap on Lyon after being held to draws against Le Mans and St Etienne respectively.
Bordeuax were indebted to a last-gasp equaliser from Fernando Cavenaghi to earn them a 1-1 draw at struggling
St Etienne.
Blaise Matuidi threatened to give St Etienne all three points with a superb strike eight minutes after the break.
However, Cavenaghi popped up a minute from time with an equaliser from close-range.
Marseille were held to a frustrating goalless draw by
Le Mans at the Stade Velodrome.
The home side dominated the game, but they could not find a way past a stubborn Le Mans defence.
Lille moved into sixth spot with a 2-1 win over
Monaco.
Ludovic Obraniak opened the scoring for Lille on 12 minutes before Alejandro Alonso was sent off for Monaco after 67 minutes minutes.
Stephane Dumont added a second for Lille in the final minute, but there was still time left for Monaco to grab a late consolation through Adriano five minutes into injury-time.
