St Etienne defender poised to return to England

Skysports.com understands former Arsenal defender Efstathios Tavlaridis is poised for a return to England in the January transfer window. Tavlaridis is understood to be available on a free transfer and St Etienne are resigned to losing him when the transfer window reopens. The Greek international has proved to be a major success in France after failing to earn regular first-team action during his three years at Arsenal. A number of Premier League sides are understood to be ready to offer Tavlaridis a route back to England and the player's agent Willie McKay is confident a deal can be struck next month. "I am speaking to a number of Premier League clubs about Stathis and I am confident he will be back playing in England next month," McKay told skysports.com. "Stathis is available on a free and I know Stathis is keen to come back to England. "So hopefully everything will get sorted in January."
