Senegalese striker Papa Niang is hoping to follow in the footsteps of elder brother Mamadou and make his mark in Ligue 1.
The 21-year-old is on trial with the first team at St Etienne this week in the hope of earning a deal.
The striker is a free agent after playing last season for FF Jaro in Finland, where he scored seven goals in 34 games.
Older brother Mamadou, a former Marseille captain, spent his entire professional career in France before moving on to Turkish outfit Fenerbahce in August.
While keen to defend the legacy left by his brother, Papa insists he wants to make his own mark on the French game.
He told skysports.com: "St Etienne is trying to give me a chance and I think I can take that chance to prove myself.
"I want to make my name for myself in this country, my brother has shown his qualities many years here before going to Turkey, so I have a legacy to defend, but I do not want to be compared to him, we are different players."
