Bordeaux chairman Jean Louis Triaud has admitted that a bid for Djibril Cisse in the January transfer window is looking unlikely.
The 2009 French champions have seen many of their title winning players depart the club, with the likes of Marouane Chamakh and Yoann Gourcuff leaving for Arsenal and Lyon respectively.
Cisse has been prolific in his time in Greek football with Panathinaikos since 2009, and was the subject of interest from former club Sunderland for a possible move back to the Premier League.
He has also been linked with a move back to his homeland, but following the decision of Lorient striker Kevin Gameiro to snub the club, Triaud insisted that he was looking for someone more in that mould.
"Cisse doesn't have the profile we are looking for," he told L'Equipe.
"The right man is Gameiro. Anyway, it is difficult with Panathinaikos.
"The current situation is not to hire a forward, failing to find solutions that could satisfy us."
