Outspoken striker to leave due to fan backlash

Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has announced that striker Moussa Maazou will not play for the club again. The Niger international was on loan at the club from CSKA Moscow, making 13 appearances and scoring one goal since joining in August. However Maazou came to blows with supporters before and after the club's embarrassing French Cup defeat to Second Division Angers. Maazou went on record about his thoughts on the clash, stating: "I don't care, I have my Moscow contract." This angered fans, who sprayed graffiti on the club's training ground walls calling for the 22-year-old to go and abused the player in training. Maazou was on loan with Monaco last season and made a real impact in the club's French Cup run to the final, but Triaud backed up his supporters by giving the player his marching orders. "He ruled himself out and we should not see him with the Girondins shirt any more," Triaud told reporters on Tuesday.
