French international signed through 2014

Defender Mamadou Sakho has signed a two-year contract extension to keep him at Paris St Germain. The 21-year-old has been in great form this season, earning a first call-up to the French national team that faced England in November. The improved deal signed on Tuesday will see the vice-captain contracted to the Ligue 1 squad until 2014. Sakho has been instrumental this season, scoring three goals for the side that currently sit fifth in the table, albeit just five points behind leaders Lille. "I feel great pride and satisfaction that we've reached an agreement," said Sakho. "I've been here since I was 13 so I really wanted to extend my adventure with PSG. We're high up the table and we have to keep the momentum going."
