Evian eased into the Coupe de France final as they made a nonsense of their league standing to stun Lorient with an emphatic victory in the semi-final at the Parc des Sports. Pascal Dupraz's side have endured a miserable season in Ligue 1 and three successive defeats have left them third from bottom with relegation to the second tier a distinct possibility. Lorient, by contrast, are in eighth and would have been clear favourites to advance to the final. However, the tie was effectively over after 33 minutes as Evian reached their first Coupe de France final. Milos Ninkovic (10) and Yannick Sagbo (20) gave the hosts a perfect start, leaving Lorient shell-shocked but better was to come for Evian as Kevin Berigaud effectively put the tie out of reach as he struck 12 minutes from time. Najib Baouia rounded off the scoring a minute after coming on as a substitute with 12 minutes to go. Evian will play the winners of the tie between Troyes and Bordeaux after Tuesday's match was postponed due to the risk of flooding. The French Football Federation later announced the fixture has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 14 at 2055 local time.
