Despite being linked with a host of clubs across Europe, the Colombian striker decided to accept a lucrative offer from big-spending Monaco.
And the 27-year-old plans to stay at the principality club for the foreseeable future, and is relishing the challenge ahead.
"Monaco have a long-term project, and the board want to take the club to a high level in European football," Falcao told Futbolred.
"That won't happen in one season, so I will remain a long time at the club, anything can happen after that."
The former Atletico Madrid hitman surprised many by choosing newly-promoted Monaco over other bigger name clubs such as Real Madrid or Chelsea.
But Falcao insists that the challenge in the south of France enticed him, and believes the club have a bright future.
He explained: "Everyone likes to be valued, and to be in a place where they give importance to your work.
"Being a key part in this project enticed me.
"It will not be easy because Monaco are not one of the most important clubs in Europe. I want to take this challenge and work to reach the World Cup in the best way."
