The 64.5million-euro Uruguay international pulled up in the 75th minute of Friday night's 2-0 Ligue 1 victory over Les Girondins and was replaced by Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Previewing PSG's Coupe de la Ligue meeting with Nantes, Blanc on Monday told a press conference: "Cavani will forfeit the Nantes games and will be absent against Monaco too.
"Cavani's injury will be an issue for several weeks. It's not a rare thing to happen to a player in his position.
"It's not a serious injury, but he must not aggravate it. We will take no risks with Cavani."
PSG, who downed Bordeaux thanks to goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alex, next face title rivals Monaco and struggling Valenciennes in the league.
Friday's match also saw midfielder Yohan Cabaye make his debut as a second-half substitute following his big-money move from Newcastle in the January transfer window.
Blanc was happy with what he saw from the France international at the Parc des Princes and has "no worries" over the 28-year-old's ability to slot into his team straight away.
"Cabaye is ready to play," he added. "He's happy in Paris and is getting on well with the team.
"I have no worries about him."
