Mendy knocks out Marseille

PSG made it two straight wins over Marseille with victory in the French League Cup.Paris Saint Germain made it two wins over Marseille in less than a week after a last-gasp 3-2 victory in the first round of the French League Cup.
PSG got the better of Jose Anigo's side at Parc des Princes on Sunday following a 2-1 win in Ligue 1.
Marseille, however, looked on course to even the score at Stade Velodrome when they went two goals up through Benoit Pedretti and a Habib Bamogo penalty.
However, PSG reduced the arrears before the break when Branko Boskovic found the scoresheet before scoring a second to level matters ten minutes after half time.
The visitors stunned the Marseille crowd when Bernard Mendy (pictured) scored PSG's winner in second half injury time to secure PSG's second round passage in the competition.
Lille needed extra time to defeat Ligue 1 leaders Lyon 3-2 at Villeneuve d'Ascq.
Following a goalless first half, Matt Moussilou gave Lille the lead on 56 minutes, but Paul Le Guen's side forced extra time when Eric Abidal scored in the 90th minute for the visitors.
Hatem Ben Arfa gave Lyon the lead in the first period of extra time before Geoffrey Dernis levelled matters in the second period.
Lille took the tie when Stephane Dumont scored the home side's winner in the last minute of extra time for the 3-2 win.
Auxerre needed penalties to defeat Rennes after both sides drew 1-1 after 120 minutes of football at Stade de la Route-de-Lorient.
Kim Kallstrom gave Rennes the lead ten minutes after the break, but Auxerre were given a lifeline when Dudu Cearense put into his own net five minutes from time, as Guy Roux's side went on to take victory in the penalty shoot-out.
Ligue 2 side Guingamp caused a bit of a shock by defeating Ligue 1 bottom club Istres 4-2 in extra time.
A brace from Cedric Faure along with single strikes from Damien Bridonneau and Milovan Sikimic were enough for Guingamp to see off their opponents, with Istres replying through a Florian Maurice penalty and Laurent Courtois.
Nantes saw off Ligue 2 side Laval 2-1 - thanks to goals from Mauro Cetto and Gregory Pujol. Marco Paulo Rebelo-Lopes scored for Laval.
