Didier Deschamps' side are in a severe slump in Ligue 1, having gone eight games without a win.
The visit of Sochaux to Stade Louis II only served to increase the misery on Deschamps and his side.
Jeremy Menez opened the scoring for the visitors with his 31st-minute strike, and Wilson Oruma doubled Sochaux's advantage just after the hour mark.
Emmanuel Adebayor pulled one back for Monaco on 68 minutes, but Ilan ensured the three points for Sochaux ten minutes from time.
PSG were held at home by champions Lyon in a dour goalless affair at Parc des Princes.
The game's only talking point came on 22 minutes when PSG defender Mario Yepes was sent off for collecting his second yellow card.
The point represents another disappointing home game for PSG, while Lyon will think they should have collected three points.
The Ligue 1 leaders could not find a way through though, and had to make do with just a point from the visit to the capital.
