Milan have reportedly made made Lyon star Cris their number one defensive target.Reports in the French media indicate that Italian giants Milan have made Lyon stopper Cris their number one defensive target.
Carlo Ancelotti's side have an ageing backline and have been scouring the continent to find competition for the likes of Alessandro Costacurta, Jaap Stam and Paolo Maldini.
Whilst PSV Eindhoven's Alex and Chelsea's William Gallas have both been strongly linked with a move to San Siro, Cris has reputedly jumped to the top of their wish list.
The Brazilian, who drew admiring glances from Real Madrid over the summer, has enjoyed a productive two years at Stade Gerland and denied knowing of any interest from Milan.
Cris also admitted he would be surprised if the Serie A side were to sign a cup-tied player as they aim to undo the pain of last season's UEFA Champions League final defeat.
"I don't know anything and I have heard nothing," Cris told But!.
"I think it is surprising as I have already played in the Champions League this season so if Milan hire me I will not be able to play the competition with them."
Another Ligue 1 defender is also believed to have caught the eye of the Rossoneri, although Paris Saint Germain official Jean-Michel Moutier insisted he knew nothing of any interest in Colombian star Mario Yepes.
"I have enough relationship with Milan to know when there is a concrete interest," said Moutier.
"Anyway it is out of the question Mario will leave us during the winter transfer window. Today he is untransferable."
