Lyon's Sidney Govou hopes his side can progress past PSV Eindhoven.
Lyon striker Sidney Govou hopes his side progress past PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League in order to play one of the 'European giants' in the quarter finals.
Gerard Houllier's side travel to PSV for the first leg on Tuesday but, despite the formidable challenge of facing Guus Hiddink's Dutch champions, who eliminated l'OL from last season's competition, Govou has already turned his thoughts to the possibility of future tests.
"I would have loved to play against another team, other than PSV Eindhoven, to discover something else but it's like that so we will do our best to qualify and play against a European giant in the quarter finals," Govou told France Football.
The confident Govou also revealed his delight at the form that has made him a first choice for Houllier this season.
"It is probably my best season since I came to Lyon," added Govou.
"People may think that I am pretentious but I knew that would happen. I am not surprised. I have played every Champions League match with Lyon."
