Marseille are reportedly interested in Lyon striker John Carew and Len's Daniel Cousin.
Marseille are reportedly interested in Lyon striker John Carew and Lens' Daniel Cousin.
L'OM have still to replace Ivory Coast international Didier Drogba following his move to Chelsea in 2004 and see Carew and Cousin as viable options.
The French side made a move for Carew last summer, but the Norwegian opted for a move to Lyon instead.
However, after enduring a difficult season at Stade Gerland, including run-ins with coach Gerard Houllier, Carew is set to move away from the club.
Marseille are thought to be in contact with Carew's advisors, but may turn their attention to Cousin (pictured) instead.
The Sang-et-or striker, in contrast to Carew, has had his best ever season in a Lens shirt but, with his contract expiring in 2007, club officials may decide to cash in on the former Le Mans star who has already admitted his aspirations to play for one of the continent's top clubs.
"I believe I can go higher," he said. "That means trying to play for a big European club."
Dynamo Moscow have been credited with an interest in the 29-year-old but Marseille would be favourites for his signature.
