Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas will hand Pauleta the contract he deserves.
Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas will hand Pauleta the contract he deserves, if the French champions strike a deal with Paris Saint Germain.
Pauleta is expected to link up with Lyon this summer, with the two clubs currently haggling over a fee in the region of é¼4 million (£2.5 million).
Reports in France have speculated upon the size of the Portugal international's likely salary at Lyon, with Aulas ready to reward Pauleta.
"Only Pedro, his agent and me know the financial conditions of a possible arrival at Lyon," Aulas told L'Equipe.
"If he decides to come, and if we find an agreement with PSG, he will get the wages he deserves."
Lyon are also keen on Marseille winger Franck Ribery, with reports suggesting the title winners could offer the likes of Sidney Govou or Anthony Reveillere in exchange.
Aulas concedes the duo could leave the club, but he feels Ribery's Marseille future is tied to that of coach Jean Fernandez, who has been linked with the Auxerre job.
He added: "Through their agents, I know Sidney Govou and Anthony Reveillere expressed their desire to find a new club.
"I don't want to say it will be l'OM.
"About John Carew, who scored 14 goals, he is much in demand, notably in England and in the South of France, but I didn't know of any l'OM interest.
"Are we still attracted by Ribery? We are attracted by all the great players.
"But I know he is linked to his coach, so if Jean Fernandez remains at Marseille, it will be difficult."
Aulas' Marseille counterpart Pape Diouf, though, is adamant Ribery will not be leaving, irrespective of rumours Lyon will hand the France hopeful a lucrative contract.
Diouf told La Provence: "I can guarantee you that Franck will stay at l'OM.
"Let me remind you that he is under contract and that we have recently given him a bigger wage."
Meanwhile, if Lyon tie up a deal for Pauleta, then Mario Yepes and Modeste M'Bami could also leave PSG in the summer.
