Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas is waiting for Marseille to allow Franck Ribery to swap clubs.
Ribery has emerged as the French champions' prime transfer target and the club are hopeful of landing the winger.
Aulas claims the France international has already agreed to move to Stade Gerland, following weeks of speculation surrounding his future.
Marseille want the exciting wide man to stay at Stade Velodrome for at least another season and are reluctant sellers.
But Aulas remains convinced he can capture Ribery and is merely waiting for Marseille to agree to the transfer.
"In an official way, I can say that he (Ribery) has chosen to join Lyon for the next years and will come as soon as he will be allowed to leave," Aulas told Le Progres.
"L'OM now have to make a choice as they declare that they won't let their player go to Lyon.
"Franck Ribery and his agent want to leave Marseille and come to Lyon.
"They will confirm soon."
Reports have suggested that to tempt Marseille into a deal, Lyon could offer the likes of John Carew, Sidney Govou, Hatem Ben Arfa or Anthony Reveillere in exchange.
Meanwhile, Lyon defender Sylvain Monsoreau has been linked with a switch to Rennes, while the Ligue 1 title holders are on the trail of Lille's Ivory Coast international Abdul Kader Keita.
