Lille midfielder Jean Makoun has confirmed he would be interested in joining Lyon.
Lille midfielder Jean Makoun has confirmed to skysports.com he would be interested in joining Lyon.
The French champions have targeted the Cameroon international and are in negotiations with Lille over a possible é¼15 million (£10 million) transfer.
Makoun, who has also been linked with Manchester United, admits he would be willing to move to Stade Gerland.
But, if the two clubs are unable to reach an agreement, then Makoun is prepared to stay at Lille next season.
"I have had contacts with Lyon, I can't deny it," Makoun told skysports.com.
"I won't say I am not interested, that would be false.
"If I have to stay at Lille, I would, but I have to talk about a few conditions with the club. If I stay at Lille, we'll have to find a solution.
"I have met with Lyon's people.
"There are a lot of defensive midfielders there, but I am not afraid of the competition.
"All the doors remain open. Lille hasn't told me anything.
"I don't want to pressure people, I just want to find a solution quickly. I tell you, it's not a problem for me to stay."
Meanwhile, Makoun admits he would be happy if Robert Nouzaret is appointed as Cameroon's new national team coach.
"He has proved his worth, his results have been very good," said Makoun. "I would welcome him as Cameroon's new coach."
