Franck Ribery is to meet with Marseille officials this week in a bid to finally thrash out his future after a pre-season of much uncertainty.
The talented France international saw his stock rise considerably at the World Cup and having returned from Germany, Ribery has been the subject of interest from several other clubs.
Manchester United and Arsenal were believed to be monitoring the situation but it has been Lyon at the head of the queue for much of the summer.
Although in the past Ribery has intimated that he was considering breaking his ties with Marseille, his agent Bruno Heiderscheid has now stated that client is happy to stay at the club - if they can match his ambition.
''It is clear Franck wants to stay at Marseille,'' confirmed Heiderscheid.
''But he doesn't want to resume in the same conditions as last year, which meant having all the responsibilities on the pitch.
''He needs to be enthused with a project, and the arrival of big names to be able to qualify for next year's Champions League.
''His behaviour will depend on the reply to this demand.''
Meanwhile, Fabrice Fiorese has been shipped out to Ligue 1 new boys Lorient after falling foul of Marseille's management.
The talented midfielder has garnered somewhat of a less than savoury reputation in his homeland due to a fondness for simulation but Lorient are the latest club to take a gamble on the former PSG schemer.
In other news, Cristian Bolanos has failed to convince Marseille he is worth a permanent deal having not impressed during a one-week trial spell.
