Guy Roux's Auxerre were in devastating form on home soil as they crushed Bastia 4-1, with Djibril Cisse bagging a brace.
The Liverpool-bound striker opened the scoring on 24 minutes before Alou Diarra - on loan from Anfield - hauled Bastia level on 29 minutes.
Yann Lachuer and Philippe Mexes put Auxerre back in front before half-time before Cisse nabbed his second on the hour mark.
PSG bounced back to form with a 2-0 success at Guingamp despite having Branko Boskovic sent off after 32 minutes for two yellow cards.
Fabrice Fiorese put the visitors ahead on 65 minutes and five minutes later Pauleta settled the contest from the penalty spot.
Toulouse collected their maiden win of the campaign at the seventh attempt when Christophe Avezac's 72nd minute goal was enough to overcome Metz.
Sochaux made it three wins on the bounce with a convincing 3-0 home success over Strasbourg.
The hosts had little difficulty dispatching their opponents, who were level on points prior to the clash.
Mickael Isabey put Sochaux ahead on 10 minutes and the lead was doubled before the half hour mark through Francileudo.
Strasbourg battled to get back into the game but Mickael Pagis put the gloss on the win with the third goal in the final minute.
Nice notched a commendable win over Lille, who finished the encounter with ten men.
Abdelmalek Cherrad's first-half double put Nice in control while Lille had Christophe Landrin dismissed with just over ten minutes remaining.
Olivier Thomert's 25th minute strike gave Lens a slender success at home to Bordeaux although the hosts played out the closing seconds with a man short after Cyril Rool received his marching orders.
Dalibor Mitrovic's goal just before the interval was sufficient for Ajaccio to surge up at the table at the expense of Rennes.
