The Primera outfit have been granted special dispensation to complete the signing after top scorer Ariza Makukula was ruled out for the rest of the campaign with a knee ligament injury last month.
Since Makukula's injury Valladolid have suffered a terrible slump in form which has seen them dragged into the relegation battle, having lost their last five league games on the trot.
Bakari, 29, arrived at Lens last summer after three impressive years with Lille, but has slipped out of the first team picture at Stade Felix-Bollaert in recent weeks.
The hit-man, an Ivory Coast international who has been linked with both Fulham and Wolves this term, insists he was delighted to have secured a move to Spain and was focused on scoring the goals to lift his new employers out of danger.
"I am aware of the situation of the team. My job is to score goals," Bakari stated.
Explaining his decision to move on, he continued: "I left Lille, where I had three very good seasons, and I arrived at Lens a star.
"Incomprehensibly, I began to play less and less.
"As what I like to do is play I looked for an exit. I believe that they (Lens) did not show the confidence in me I deserved."
Valladolid have an option to complete a permanent deal for Bakari should he impress between now and the end of the season, and the player will start training with his new team-mates on Monday and will be available for next weekend's league clash with Sevilla.
