Third-placed PSG hosted fourth-placed Sochaux at Parc des Princes, and took the lead four minutes after half time thanks to a Pedro Pauleta penalty.
Sochaux hit back with Francileudo Santos just five minutes later and neither side finding a winner PSG remain three points behind second placed Lyon while Sochaux are a further two points adrift in fourth.
Auxerre lost ground in fifth as they went down 1-0 away at Lille thanks to a single goal from Matt Mousilou after 53 minutes.
Bottom side Le Mans were unsurprisingly beaten at Bordeaux, as goals from Albert Celades and Mathieu Beda gave Les Girondins a 2-0 win.
Toulouse grabbed a vital win at the foot of the table, and their victory over fellow strugglers Montpellier lifted them out of the bottom three above both Guingamp and Metz.
Achille Emana grabbed the all-important goal for Toulouse after just 14 minutes as they earned the victory that lifted them away from trouble while Montpellier remain second from bottom.
Guingamp slipped into the relegation zone as they did not play, while Metz are only outside the drop zone on goal difference after they suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Lens.
John Utaka scored the first for the visitors after 27 minutes and Papa Bouba Diop made the game safe from the spot on 66 minutes after Stephane Morisot has been sent off for handball inside the box.
Nantes enjoyed a good 3-0 win away at Rennes, with a Cedric Barbosa own goal coming in between a Viorel Moldovan double to give Loic Amisse's men a comfortable win.
Ulrich Le Pen was the two-goal hero for Strasbourg as he struck twice in three minutes to rescue a point at home to Nice.
The visitors had taken the lead through Romain Pitau and Olivier Echouafni but Le Pen hit back on 60 and 63 minutes to grab a point for Nantes.
