Issam Jomaa's second half brace has given Lens the advantage against Panathinaikos.
Issam Jomaa's second half brace has given Lens the advantage in their Uefa Cup last 32 tie with Panathinaikos.
The French side defeated their Greek opponents 3-1 at the Stade Felix-Bollaert, all four goals coming after the break.
Jomaa opened the scoring four minutes into the second half but Dimitris Salpigidis' long-ranger, his 15th goal of the season, levelled things up.
But parity lasted just five minutes as Jomaa restored Lens' lead on 70 minutes, making no mistake after Aruna Dindane's ball in.
Dindane added a third from the penalty spot just before full time after Yohan Demont was fouled in the area.
The two-goal lead means Francis Gillot's side have a strong chance of progressing when the two sides meet for the second leg next week.
