Gerard Brianti says Monaco are in talks with Camel Meriem and Olivier Kapo.Monaco vice-chairman Gerard Brianti has confirmed that the club are in talks to sign Camel Meriem and Olivier Kapo.
The Principality outfit have been in the process of making rapid changes since the end of the season, and are looking to make the duo their fifth and sixth signings after already agreeing deals for Toifilou Maoulida, Gerard, Guillaume Warmuz and Olivier Sorlin.
Kapo is the subject of a loan offer after the former Auxerre forward failed to make an impact in Italy with giants Juventus.
A deal is likely to be announced in the coming days for the French international, although an agreement for Meriem has proved to be less forthcoming.
The Bordeaux man has already indicated a willingness to move to Didier Deschamps' team, although the clubs are yet to agree a transfer fee - with reports suggesting Bordeaux are holding out for é¼6 million.
"In the coming days we hope to settle the arrival of Olivier Kapo to Monaco on loan, we are on a good path," Brianti told L'Equipe.
"About Meriem it would have been already settled if it was a perfect transfer.
"We are keen to sign Meriem, he wants to join us but we have to find an agreement with Bordeaux."
The Monaco supremo also denied that the Ligue 1 side have received any serious interest for their star players, meaning Mohammed Kallon and Diego Perez could well stay at Stade Louis II.
Brianti also confirmed that the club are not looking to sell Emmanuel Adebayor and Patrice Evra, as he stated: "We don't want to sell, we will simply look at it if concrete propositions will come."
