Jean-Louis Triaud has asked Laurent Blanc not to worry about reinforcements.Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud has asked Laurent Blanc to be more realistic about his plans for the transfer window.
Earlier this week Blanc warned that his squad was in desperate need of reinforcements, in a message directed at Bordeaux's officials.
Blanc said the club needed to sign five players before the start of the new season, but Triaud is chalking his comments down to inexperience.
Triaud hopes there will be a number of new arrivals in the coming weeks, but has told Blanc not to expect everything he wants.
He told L'Equipe: "Laurent Blanc sees the season coming up and his group is still handicapped by injuries or late comebacks, so he is a little worried. That is logical.
"I believe Laurent is full of enthusiasm and desire, but he has to know some transfers can be unreachable for several reasons, and not only financial.
"Hiring five players? At first we are looking for three players, and then we will see.
"The day when a coach would tell me he has too many players, I would be very surprised. With my experience, I know coaches want a lot of players.
"I believe when Laurent has ten years of summer transfer window experience, he will think differently."
According to reports in France, Nice striker David Bellion could be set to join Bordeaux.
The former Manchester United man, who scored eight goals last season, is understood to be keen on a move to one of Ligue 1's top clubs.
