Caen missed the chance to go second in the Ligue 1 table as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Angers on Sunday afternoon.

Caen had to play for just over an hour with 10 men after Alaeddine Yahia was sent of for the hosts, but the visiting side could not capitalise on the man advantage as the game ended in a stalemate.

Saint-Etienne also missed a golden chance to push themselves up the Ligue 1 table as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Marseille, who have pulled themselves four points clear of the relegation zone.

Michy Batshuayi and Georges-Kévin Nkoudou were on target for the visitors and assisted each other in the process.

Rennes and Bordeaux played out a 2-2 draw at the Stade de la Route-de-Lorient in a thrilling game where neither side was to be outdone by the other.

Ousmane Dembele put the hosts ahead just after the half an hour mark but Bordeaux hit right back 10 minutes later with an Enzo Crivelli strike.
