After training on Thursday the 23-year-old told l'OM coach Javier Clemente that he wanted to play in the centre or not at all.
"I told to the coach that I wanted to play in the centre of the defence," said Gallas. "I am fed up with being overlooked and I am not in Bordeaux, that's all."
Javier Clemente seems very surprised by the behaviour of Gallas as he is a promising youngster and one of the best players in the team.
"In my 14 year career in Spain, I have never known such a situation where a player refused to play where his coach told him," said Clemente.
"For me the situation is simple, in the centre, Bruno Ngotty and Zoumana Camara are full team members.
"I asked Gallas to play on the left, he replied to me that it was difficult for him and he only wanted to play in the centre so I will manage without him. And I won't change my mind during the next few weeks."
Gallas' agent Pape Diouf refused to talk about the possibility of a transfer but said that his player was unhappy and needed to sort out his future at the Stade Velodrome.
"When there was Laurent Blanc and Cyril Domoraud, William accepted that he was the reserve. Today he is fed up at playing on the right, left, or in the midfield. Only dialogue can settle things, that's what I will provoke."
Marseille's African players will not be in Bordeaux as they are playing in the World Cup qualifiers.
Also, Jerome Leroy will not be with the squad as rumours continue to spread about him leaving the club. The latest reports suggest that he will be part of a swap deal with Monaco's Xavier Gravelaine.
