BRANDO SEDAN BOUND - LACHUER RETURNS

FREDERIC BRANDO is expected to finalise his move from Marseille to Sedan on Thursday.

The 28-year-old (pictured) almost signed for Manchester City during last season, but decided to remain in France instead.

He has also been linked with a move to Montpellier and Bastia, but decided on a move to Sedan with them playing European football next season.

Elsewhere, Yann Lacheur has agreed a return to Auxerre.

He has agreed a five-year deal with the club after moving from Bastia with Cyrille Jeunechamp moving in the opposite direction and Pierre Deblock moving in a loan deal.

Auxerre have also been forced to pay 15 million francs (£1.4 million) as part of the deal.

Kaba Diawara has been ruled out of the start of the season with a serious knee injury.

The former West Ham loanee will undergo an operation in Strasborg on Thursday and has been told he will be out for three to four months.

Another former West Ham loanee, Christian Bassila, will join up with Strasborg in another loan deal.

The 23-year-old midfielder will link up with former Hammers team-mate Marc Keller who is now manager of the club.
