The French shot-stopper is widely tipped to be leaving La Beaujoire at the end of the season and Marseille have emerged as the latest favourites to sign him.
The 23-year-old already has a huge reputation despite his young age and has been eyed by several top clubs around Europe.
Stade Velodrome boss Alain Perrin is looking to bring him in during the summer but that could depend on whether l'OM qualify for the Champions League.
Landreau's agent Axel Lablatiniere says that he would only consider remaining in France should l'OM offer him Champions League football next term, otherwise he would move abroad.
"Marseille could be interested, but anyway, if Mickael will leave Nantes for another French club, the challenge should be interesting before he leaves for abroad," said Lablatiniere.
"Moreover he could still leave for Spain or England at the end of the season."
Nantes seemed resigned to losing their skipper and may even have to lower their é¼6 million asking price for him in order to avoid losing him for nothing when his contract expires.
