Marseille are on the trail of Roda JC Kerkrade's coveted striker Arouna Kone.Marseille are on the trail of Roda JC Kerkrade's coveted striker Arouna Kone.
The Ivory Coast starlet is tipped to leave Roda next summer after coming close to an exit back in August.
He had agreed a deal with Dutch champions Ajax but the move collapsed when the medical detected a heart problem.
Kone has since returned to action for Roda after being given the all-clear by doctors and he is looking to put the incident behind him.
German outfit Schalke have been mooted as strong admirers of the 20-year-old but Marseille have joined the list of suitors.
The French side, coached by Jose Anigo (pictured), dispatched a delegation to watch Kone in action over the weekend for Roda's trip to Twente.
Roda won the match 3-2 but Kone was not on target, although he did put in a 90 minute shift in front of his potential bidders.
When Roda eventually part company with Kone, they can expect a significant windfall after their é¼1 million outlay to bring the forward in from Lierse.
