Marseille have beaten Uefa Cup holders CSKA Moscow 2-1 in Russia.Marseille gave themselves an excellent chance of qualifying from Uefa Cup Group F following a 2-1 win over CSKA Moscow.
The Uefa Cup holders fell behind after 23 minutes when Taye Taiwo's pin-point left wing cross picked out Sabri Lamouchi in the middle who headed home.
Moscow tried to get back into the game, but fell further behind before the break when Wilson Oruma capitalised on a mistake before feeding Mamadou Niang.
The Senegal international took a touch in the box before firing past Igor Akinfeev to double the French side's advantage.
The home side should have pulled one back shortly after the interval but Sergei Ignashevich's penalty was saved by Fabien Barthez after Sergei Samodin was felled in the box.
CSKA did manage a goal late on when 16-year-old substitute Aleksandr Salougin found fellow substitute Vagner Love who scored from close-range.
Elsewhere in Group F, Dinamo Bucharest and Heerenveen secured a point apiece following a goalless draw in Romania.
