French Cup round-up

Marseille will face Paris Saint Germain in the final of the French Cup.

Marseille reached the final of the French Cup for the first time in 15 years following a 3-0 win over Rennes.

L'OM were ahead after just 17 seconds through Franck Ribery and never looked back as further first-half goals from Taye Taiwo and Mamadou Niang gave Jean Fernandez's side a comfortable victory.

A mistake from Rennes defender Gregory Bourillon allowed Ribery to put Marseille ahead early on in the tie with a lob over goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson.

Taiwo doubled the lead with a free kick on 18 minutes before Niang added the third just before the break to put Marseille in total command.

Rennes were unable to produce a miraculous second-half comeback and Marseille strolled to victory.

They will play Paris Saint Germain in the final at the Stade de France at the end of April after Pauleta scored a late winner for the Parisians to overcome Nantes.

Fabrice Pancrate put PSG in front on 68 minutes, but their advantage was short-lived as Mauro Cetto equalised just four minutes later.

With the game heading for extra time, Portuguese front man Pauleta found the net with less than five minutes remaining to send the visitors into the final.
