Cisse targets October return

Djibril Cisse is hopeful of making his debut for Marseille at the beginning of October.

Marseille striker Djibril Cisse is hopeful of making his debut for the club at the beginning of October.

The 24-year-old moved to the Stade Velodrome on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool during the summer.

However, Cisse has been unable to get his career with the French outfit underway because of a broken leg suffered with France prior to the World Cup.

After a number of months recovering from his latest injury setback, the former Auxerre man is hopeful of returning soon.

His most recent medical showed no delays in his recovery and Cisse says he will be back as good as new.

"The last medical showed I am more solid than before," Cisse told La Provence.

"None of the bones are still fragile, contrary to what I have read in a few papers.

"I will come back like new, with the qualities I had at the age of 18, full of motivation.

"I will be like a car which just leaves the garage."
