Fabien Barthez's replacement Cedric Carrasso has been delighted by his Marseille start.
Fabien Barthez's replacement Cedric Carrasso has been delighted by Marseille's unbeaten start to the season.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper has taken over the duties between the sticks from the French international this season.
He has conceded just twice in Ligue 1 so far this term, helping the Stade Velodrome outfit to achieve the best defensive record in the division.
Marseille are still in the Coupe de la Ligue, the Coupe de France and the Uefa Cup, and Carrasso has been thrilled with his excellent opening as the club's number one and particularly the team's impressive away wins.
"We are in great form, a really dynamic period," Carrasso told l'OM's website.
"Victory is always important, especially away from home.
"We are very proud of our results, and hope they don't stop!"
In Franck Ribery they have a world star and Carrasso is confident in his team's ability to compete with any of Europe's top clubs.
"Our squad is now prepared to face great opponents," he added.
"It has the same importance to win against Bordeaux as Montpellier."
The Southern France side will have the chance to keep up their fine start with a trip to second bottom club Nantes on Sunday, for Georges Eo's first game at the helm of Les Canaris.
