Francisco Pavon could join Marseille on loan in the January transfer window.
Real Madrid defender Francisco Pavon could join Marseille on loan in the January transfer window, according to reports in France.
The 26-year-old came through the ranks at Real but has found first-team opportunities hard to come by.
Pavon has fallen down the pecking order further since Fabio Capello took charge in the summer and has been linked with a move to England.
That was quickly denied by the Spanish giants but talk continues about his future at the Bernabeu.
Marseille are being linked with a move for the stopper as they look to add some experience to their promising young pairing of Ronald Zubar and Renato Civelli.
Another player currently plying his trade in Spain, Laurent Robert, is also been linked with a move to Marseille.
The former Newcastle winger is open to a move to the Stade Velodrome, but insists he is happy at Levante.
"I would like to experience playing in France one last time before the end of my career," Robert told Foot Transferts. "But that will depend on the offers I receive.
"Every year, I am linked to Marseille, unfortunately that never happens.
"Everybody knows I am very close to (chairman) Pape Diouf. He and (director of sports) Jose Anigo wanted me at Marseille, but they never signed me. Maybe one day they will."
Meanwhile, l'OM have allowed young midfielder Thomas Deruda to rejoin Libourne on loan, but rejected talk that Garry Bocaly will be joining him.
