VALENCIA have issued an ultimatum to French club Rennes over defender Anthony Reveillere, admitting to planetfootball.com that negotiations must be completed by Monday or they will call off their chase for the player.
Talks on the 23-year-old full back's proposed move have been ongoing for several weeks, but the two sides are still some way apart over the size of the transfer fee.
Rennes are holding out for around é¼8 million, whereas the reigning Spanish league champions have offered just above é¼5 million which they would pay in monthly installments over a three-and-a-half year period.
Che sporting director, Jesus Garcia Pitarch has recently returned from negotiations in France along with club director Manuel Llorente, and spoke exclusively to planetfootball.com.
Pitarch confirmed that Valencia were keen to secure the services of Reveillere, but added: "We can not go mad (over the transfer fee) in these difficult economic times."
However, a serious injury to full back Curro Torres has heightened the club's need for a top-class reinforcement.
