Deschamps tracking midfielders

Didier Deschamps is keen to strengthen his midfield this summer.

Monaco coach Didier Deschamps is reportedly keen to strengthen his midfield during the summer.

Reports in France suggest that Nantes' Jeremy Toulalan and Rennes' Olivier Sorlin (pictured) are the former French captain's main targets.

Sorlin will be out of contract in June, and Deschamps is a known admirer of the 25-year-old.

Despite keen interest from several of France's top clubs, it is believed that Sorlin favours a switch to the Principality.

French Under-21 star Toulalan has impressed with his displays in the holding midfield role for Nantes in Ligue 1.

Deschamps sees Toulalan as a possible replacement for Pontus Farnerud, who is expected to depart from the South of France at the end of the present campaign.

Meanwhile, Monaco's promising defender Patrice Evra is expected to move on at the end of this season.

Real Madrid are reportedly lining the left back up as a potential replacement for the ageing Roberto Carlos.
