Grenoble have dumped Lille out of the French Cup with a 3-1 extra time win.Ligue 2 club Grenoble have dumped Ligue 1 high-flyers Lille out of the French Cup with a 3-1 extra time win.
Lille took the lead on 32 minutes through Nicolas Fauvergue, but the lower division visitors restored parity three minutes after the break through Gael Danic.
The match then headed for extra time and Grenoble broke the deadlock just before the end of the first extra time period with a second from Danic.
The visitors then capped a famous win when Nassim Akrour (pictured) made it 3-1 two minutes from the end to send Grenoble into the quarter finals.
Fourth division side Albi were unable to repeat such heroics after a 3-0 home defeat to Ligue 1 club Sochaux.
All the goals came in the latter part of the second half, with Mohammed Abdel Kader giving the visitors the lead on 72 minutes.
Francileudo dos Santos Silva then scored a brace in the final 11 minutes to secure Sochaux's place in the last eight.
Monaco reached the quarter finals after a 1-0 extra time win at Rennes.
The Principality club needed a result in their third round tie after recent defeats in the UEFA Champions League to PSV Eindhoven and Ligue 1 to local rivals Nice.
After 90 minutes of scoreless football at Route-de-Lorient, the visitors reached the final eight when on-loan striker Javier Saviola volleyed home four minutes into the first period of extra time.
Finally, Auxerre came from two goals down to defeat Paris Saint Germain 3-2 in their third round tie at the Abbe Deschamps.
PSG got off to a great start when Jose Karl Pierre-Fanfan gave the visitors the lead after three minutes.
The French capital club then doubled their lead when the Brazilian Reinaldo made it 2-0 mid-way though the half.
Guy Roux's side soon made it a cup tie when Bonaventure Kalou made it 2-1 at the break.
Auxerre then equalised with 14 minutes remaining through Zimbabwian Benjamin Mwaruwari and the home side secured their passage into the quarter finals three minutes later when Kanga Akale made it 3-2.
