Swiss striker Alexander Frei has inked a new deal at Rennes.
Rennes have been a handed a real boost ahead of the new campaign with the news that Alexander Frei has inked a new deal.The free scoring Switzerland international has put pen to paper on a new contract that keeps him at Rennes until 2007.
Frei's previous deal was set to expire in 2006 and the player had been subject of much speculation as talk of a move continually resurfaced.
However, last season's top goalscorer has now spoken of his delight at pledging his long-term future to Rennes.
''I am very content at Rennes,'' said Frei.
''From an athletic standpoint there is a beautiful tournament to aim for.
''I am delighted to extend my contract.''
