French club claim Inter midfielder wants to return to Ligue 1

PSG manager Antoine Kombourare has revealed that Inter Milan midfielder Patrick Vieira is in talks to join the club. Kombourare stated that he spoke over the phone with the France international and his response over a possible return to Ligue 1 was positive. The 33-year-old featured in just 24 games in all competitions last term and is fearful that Inter boss Jose Mourinho will limit his opportunities further next season. The move would also allow the former Arsenal man to try to regain his place in the national team ahead of next summer's World Cup, with the former Arsenal man having failed to play in any of France's five World Cup qualifiers. "I spoke with Patrick Vieira on the phone, he really wants to work with me, he knows he has one season to re-launch his career to get back to the national team for the World Cup," Kombourare told RMC. "But our main problem is his salary, he wants to make a bit of a sacrifice but we don't know how much, he is talking with Sebastien Bain (PSG president) so we will see if it will happen." Meanwhile, PSG are also rumoued to have lodged a €7.5million bid for Sochaux star Mevlut Erdinc. PSG are looking to push through a deal this week, with Erdinc believed to be keen to seal a move to the French capital.
