Monaco look set to snap up Nigerian midfielder Wilson Oruma from Sochaux.
Monaco have emerged as front-runners to secure the signature of Nigerian midfielder Wilson Oruma.
The Sochaux playmaker is out of contract at the end of the season, and it is believed that the lure of Monaco will tempt Oruma away from a previously discussed move to Marseille.
Sochaux chairman Jean-Claude Plessis has revealed his disappointment and frustration that the club seem destined to lose Oruma.
"We tried to make him sign a contract extension, but we have not succeeded yet," said Plessis.
"With the player we almost found an agreement, but with his agent Pierre Frelot, it was much more difficult. Pierre Frelot stated there is no hurry. So he took advantage to meet all the attracted clubs."
Monaco will hope to be able to offer Oruma UEFA Champions League football, and if the move goes through he is likely to join Rennes' Olivier Sorlin at Stade Louis II next season.
