Mathieu Bodmer believes the lack of changes at Lille is the secret to their success.
Mathieu Bodmer believes the lack of changes among the Lille squad is the secret to their success.
Under manager Claude Puel, Lille have finished in the top three in Ligue 1 in each of the last two seasons.
Lille have qualified for the UEFA Champions League through their league position in the past two seasons and Bodmer is expecting more of the same in the coming years.
"Lille will qualify for another Champions League, I am sure of it! We occupy a good position in Ligue 1 and our future is in our hands," he told skysports.com.
"It's fantastic for our youngsters to play Champions League football and this year we have a good opportunity to qualify for the next round.
"When you have tasted that competition, you want more and more.
"LOSC haven't changed the squad for three years, we have kept the same framework. Only some minor changes were made.
"We are the opposite of other teams who change all their players every summer.
"We have kept the same coaching staff, the same family spirit, a new stadium will be built and that motivates us a lot.
"Lille's young squad wants to progress together."
Meanwhile, Bodmer has admitted a hope of playing for France in the future but insists he is fully focused on the present task at hand.
He added: "Playing for France is every footballer's dream. But I have always thought that focusing on my performances was the best way to reach that level.
"So I do my job normally, without putting pressure on myself. That (playing for France) would be a bonus, a reward for my efforts."
