Striker close to return, but Balmont remains sidelined

Lille are confident top scorer Moussa Sow will come back into contention for Saturday's trip to Nancy. The powerful striker picked up a groin injury during the recent 1-1 draw with Lorient and was forced to sit out last weekend's 5-0 demolition of Arles as a result. He is, however, making steady progress in his rehabilitation and is closing on a first-team return. Scans have found no lasting damage, with a muscle tear ruled out of the equation.

Strain

That means the leading marksman in Ligue 1, who is reportedly attracting interest from the Premier League, should be back in action against Nancy. Lille are, however, still without the services of Florent Balmont. The holding midfielder continues to nurse a thigh strain and may not figure again until the French Cup final on 14th May. Lille, who face Paris St Germain in the cup final, continue to lead the French top flight by a solitary point with five games of the season remaining.
