Paolo Di Canio inspired Lazio to a 3-0 first leg InterToto Cup win over Tampere.
Lazio look well on course for the fourth round of the InterToto Cup after Paolo Di Canio inspired them to a 3-0 first leg win against Tampere United in Rome.
Di Canio bagged the third just after the interval to all but kill off the tie, after Manuel Belleri and Tommaso Rocchi had given them a 2-0 lead.
Wolfsburg put themselves in pole position after a 2-0 first leg win over IFK Gothenburg.
The German side negotiated a tricky looking tie with goals from Andres D'Alessandro and Maik Franz.
Argentine ace D'Alessandro broke the deadlock on 35 minutes to give Wolfsburg a half time lead.
The visitors doubled the lead ten minutes after the restart with Franz finding the net.
Wolfsburg will be confident of finishing off the job in the second leg next week.
French side St Etienne are favourites to progress in their tie with CFR Cluj after a 1-1 draw in Romania.
Cosmin Tilinca had given the home side a very early lead after his goal just six minutes in.
However, the Ligue 1 outfit fought back and levelled just before the interval through Frederic Piquionne.
Valencia sitll have some work to do if they want to reach the next phase after being held to a 0-0 draw in their first leg tie in Belgium against Gent.
