No regrets for Yohann

Yohann Hautcoeur has no regrets about making the switch to St Etienne.

Yohann Hautcoeur has no regrets about making the switch to St Etienne.

The former Le Mans player moved to St Etienne last summer but has failed to become a regular in the first team, instead spending most of his time on the bench for Les Verts.

The midfielder is, however, hoping to break in to the first team in the future and is content at the Stade Geoffroy Guichard.

"It is hard to remain on the bench because as a competitor I really want to play," Hautcoeur told Ouest-France.

"There is a lot of competition within the St Etienne squad, but I don't regret anything, I am happy to be here.

"I feel good because I work a lot in training and I hope it is going to pay. But it is true that I would prefer to be part of the starting XI.

"At St Etienne you can feel the weight of the past. They are a really mythical club, there is always a fantastic atmosphere and an exceptional passion.

"The fans are always present and faithful. There are always a lot of people at training, between 800-1000 fans."
