Mercurial playmaker and captain Ludovic Giuly will almost certainly be fit to resume first-team duties in the return fixture, after recovering from a fractured foot.
The French international had been widely expected to partake in Tuesday's defeat in Moscow, but having remained an unused substitute, the talented schemer will now almost certainly return in Monaco's second leg attempt to overturn a 2-1 deficit.
Of the further welcome news to coach Didier Deschamps is the fitness of accomplished central defender Sebastian Squillaci, who is making good progress from muscular problems.
The young talent has returned to training and thus far has suffered no ill-effects from a series of jogging exercises.
Squillaci's return would be an integral addition to Deschamps' squad, considering the ease in which Lokomotiv cut through the French rearguard in the first tie.
