Squillaci only returned to action after a month on the sidelines in the UEFA Champions League defeat to Real Madrid last week.
But his comeback has proved short-lived after he aggravated his thigh injury in the weekend win over Le Mans.
The defender is now expected to require a month out of Monaco's plans after straining his thigh muscle against Le Mans.
Akis Zikos is another likely to be absent from Didier Deschamps' squad after he collected a thigh injury, with the midfielder due to be sidelined for a fortnight.
Deschamps also has concerns regarding the fitness of another quartet of his players although the injuries are not believed to be serious.
Patrice Evra is struggling with an ankle complaint while Fernando Morientes missed the clash against Le Mans due to a knock.
Ludovic Giuly is still not at peak fitness after his fractured foot while Jerome Rothen is plagued by a nagging groin injury.
