Auxerre win Sissoko case

Auxerre have won their case with Valencia over the transfer of Mohammed Sissoko.

Auxerre have won their case with Valencia over the controversial transfer of Mohammed Sissoko.

The 19-year-old Mali international midfielder left Auxerre last summer to sign for the Primera outfit, despite being offered a professional deal by the French side.

However, French league rules stipulate that youngsters who have been brought through by a club must sign their first contract at that club, if one is offered.

Auxerre had appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport after Sissoko completed his move to the Mestalla last summer.

Now they have won the case, the two clubs are in talks to find a compensation fee for the talented midfielder.
