The on-going summer transfer saga of Antonio Cassano continues in Italy. The on-going summer transfer saga of Antonio Cassano's protracted move from Roma to Juventus shows no sign of abating.
Cassano's current deal at the capital outfit expires next summer and it appears that he has little intention of extending his stay at the Stadio Olimpico.
Juventus are known to be strong suitors of the diminutive front-man and it has been reported that the player's agent has spoken to Giallorossi officials.
Roma will be aware that they risk losing the talented Italy international in the summer for nothing, but as yet, there has been no public announcement with regards to Juve's interest.
Indeed, in the past few days talk has been of Real Madrid entering the bidding - as a move for Brazilian Robinho appears no nearer to being completed.
Juve midfielder Emerson, who made the same move last summer, has conceded that he would like to be reunited with his former team-mate.
''What is there to say about Cassano?'' said Emerson.
''That Turin is a place in which you feel good.
''Surely, Juve and Roma are two different environments. Everyone would like to have Cassano in their side.
''But, I don't think Roma would like to sell and I think he feels good in Rome.''
Meanwhile, Roma could face a ban in the transfer market because of their involvement in Philippe Mexes' transfer from Auxerre.
Roma have already been hit with a é¼8 million fine - Mexes was also banned for six weeks - but it would now appear that the French outfit are ready to present fresh evidence.
Speculation has suggested that the documents possessed by Auxerre are strong enough for Fifa's Controversial Commission to issue a sales/arrivals ban.
