They were soon level, though, as Nene converted from the penalty spot after Benjamin Nivet had seen red for the visitors.
PSG took control of proceedings from that point on and Jeremy Menez edged them in front 10 minutes into the second half.
Nene bagged his second of the game on 76 minutes, before Jerry Vandam handed Caen a lifeline eight minutes from time.
There was to be no late drama, though, and Javier Pastore put the seal on a convincing home win in the closing stages.

Loic Remy had them in front inside 60 seconds and Benoit Cheyrou edged them further clear on 11 minutes.
Dijon came back into the game in the first minute of the second half, as Brice Jovial struck, and Benjamin Corgnet hauled them level on 63 minutes.
Marseille were to have the last laugh, though, as Alou Diarra pinched a winner on 82 minutes.
Double
Evian picked up their first win in 10 as they overcame
Auxerre 3-1.
A first half double from Yannick Sagbo (15 & 42) had Evian in complete control, and Cedric Barbosa added a third on 69 minutes.
Dariusz Dudka pulled one back for Auxerre from the spot on 71minutes but it was too little, too late.

Bruno Ecuele Manga rescued some pride for Lorient on 54 minutes, but his solitary strike was not enough to prevent them from slipping to a 3-1 defeat.
